Refering Domains Vs Backlinks

Ok so I recently started building links to my website and 95% have been from unique domains. My problem is Moz and Ahrefs are both saying I only have like 5 refering domains out of over 100 links.
What am I missing here, shouldnt I have the same amout of refering domains as I do unique domain backlinks?

Moz and Ahrefs will show links that they have crawled and indexed.

So unless these tools crawls those links, links will not be visible.

thanks for the response. So out of the domains they have crawled they are mostly unique but not showing as a "refering domain". 95 links (80 unique) but only 5 refering domains

Think I figured it out. It looks like the amount of Referring domains are very close to the number of "do follow" links
