Hey, Just thought I would give a tip to anyone who has a high bounce rate, or anyone who just wants to get their bounce rate down a bit.

I had a bounce rate of 90% going for a while, I put in a "similar posts" plugin, and my bounce rate has gone down by over 5%. Not only that, but the people who have clicked on one article end up reading 2, or 3 extra ones - my page views has gone up 25%!!!

The plugin I used was on wordpress, called nrelate its free and you can get it via just searching the plugins.

    The settings I have:
6 related articles show at the beginning of the post, the images are 80px wide, and I have one sponsored post in there as well, set to be the last one.

    Happy blogging, hope this helps.

Yes, without a doubt if you are not giving your users anything else to read after their done with your article that is a big mistake & you are in the wrong field.

Your tool must be good however I highly recommend you use the technique big article websites use, when they manually add something that looks like this:

^ if you add something like that after every 2/3 paragraphs of your article - whenever the user gets discouraged & gets bored of your article they have something to click - just make sure the title is a very attractive yet short one.

I have Adsense at the beginning of each post. Because I don't care if people read my articles or not. They are high quality, don't get me wrong. I put a lot of time and effort into them. But at the end of the day it's all about making money for me.

I have the right hand side of the page covered with a 300*600 ad that seems to work fairly well.

I have seen a bit of an increase because of the plugin. (If you don't want it at the top, you can also place it right after your article.)

The more pages someone reads the more likely they will click an ad.

Polls also reduce the bounce rate.
