So I have this domain its a PMD that ranks #4-7 for a bunch of 2-3k traffic keywords. If I 301 redirect www.beachballsrainbow.com to spheres.com/beach-balls/ do will the rankings for beach balls probably transfer to with the redirect?

Basically the site is ranked but it only gets about 2k visitors a month with 3 pages of content (the homepage is the only traffic page). I see no reason to further develop it, as it only makes $25 a month.

If no one has done this before I will just run the experiment and let you know how it goes. I just don't want to do it if it it is proven not to work.

Once the redirect has been indexed, the rankings of the old url will be transferred to the new one although it's not bound to happen.

Thanks man I have done homepage to homepage and transferred rankings really well before never done this homepage to internal page before I appreciate the feedback.

I'll post back here when the redirect is done and let future BHW folk know if it gets good results or not.

I just made a couple edits to the content to where matches the image and tone of my authority site. I will transfer the content and redirect as soon as that indexes.

There are lots of threads with people talking about it taking a long time to recover rankings regardless of where the 301 points...

So I did the redirect two weeks ago. Rankings went down 4-10 spots putting me bottom of first and second page. Traffic is halved as of now worth it right now for me but still hoping they recover.
