Hey blackhatters, quick question and hope I can get an answer to it soon.

So I know about Page Rank, SERPS, backlinks, and all that other stuff to get to #1 in G, but I was wondering what would happen if once you got your site to #1 and you then redirected it straight to a cpa offer. Would you drop rank?

Ex.
You are #1 for keyword "free itunes card" in Google.
You had a review site or whatever with keywords, articles, meta tags, the whole nine yards.
You then put a redirect from your homepage straight to the cpa offer.
Would it drop in rank? Is this frowned upon? Wouldn't it really help with CTR if you don't give them a banner or link to click and just send them straight to the offer now that you are #1?
Or is it even possible to be #1 if you redirected from the very beginning when you registered the domain?

Any help would be great! Thanks BHW. :D

Yeah you will 1000% lose your rank , but the question how fast would be this drop ? All that "on page" seo will be bypassed when u redirect your domain to cpa ..

there are ways of not losing your rank, just check if the user is from SE, if yes, then redirect, if its a type in visitor then let him view ur website...

ok.. thanks. I was thinking that term is "direct visitors" :) Ok anyway..

But NEO you are saying direct visitors should see the original site , and SE visitors should redirect. And I am thinking SE visitors should see the your site and direct visitors can be redirected to CPA ..

Is this not more reasonable in SERP manner ? Can you explain little more ?
Thanks..

you are aiming for Rank 1 on google, then why would you redirect the type-in traffic?? and if you make your site visible to only SE visitors, you'll have to place in more checks, that would also mean that you will serve a different page to the bots, which is highly frowned upon, where as in the other case you just have to check the referrer and if its a SE then redirect.. make your choice, if i were you, i would have redirected the SE traffic as thats where we will get the most visitors from...

if you are getting traffic from FB ads then you can place a referrer check and redirect those too... there are many things that you can do so just think about what you really want

if you make your site visible to only SE visitors,

No no , i didnt mean this. Here is key point only .. I meant just if necessarily some traffic is redirected it should be only Direct traffic , all remaining other traffic including bots should remain visible ofcourse..

I was actually completely against redirecting , you put me in a corner man :). But I agree with you , I see what you mean Fb traffic is also okay to redirect . But still SE traffic I am thinking google has some kind of ping back mechanism that they can sense your redirect and drop your rank..

Ok..thanks. I am gone now :)..
