Redirect function in Domain Management account

Please share your experience / encounters.

Domain name registrars such as Go*Daddy.c0m allow users to buy a domain name and do a redirect to another URL or domain. So for example, if I bought
MyNewDomain.com, I could go to the domain management area in my account and redirect this new domain to OneOfMyOldDomains.com.

You can even "mask" the redirect so that after a visitor arrives at OneOfMyOldDomains.com, they will still see MyNewDomain.com in their browser address bar.

How have your experiences been with regards to such redirect / masking features?

Would you think that this is a feature that all domain name registrars provide or it depends?

Most of them provide this service - it is using either a 301 or 302 redirect - I usually prefer to redirect using other methods -

Here is an example - with this example - you will get redirected 3 times - one using htaccess - once using meta - and once using java - I use this site to set up redirections for other sites

yeah you can spoof the affiliate link and the referer with posting forms, old method, but doesnt work with using the img tag ..
