Alright, so basically the questions says it all. If I could run a javascript function when someone hit the "Like" button, that would be perfect.

The Facebook button I have been using is the one at:

    Code:
    http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like/
Note: This is not liking a fanpage, this is liking a website ON the website.

One option that I have seen used before is having a "Next page" button or a "Go" button underneath the Facebook like button. First the 10 seconds or so after the page loads, clicking the "Go" button brings up a message that says "Please like us on facebook before continuing".

Users see that, "Like" the page, and then try to continue. The problem is if they "Like" the page in less than 10 seconds and hit the "Go" button, it will still bring up the same message. Users than assume the whole thing is crap and leave and you lose your potential lead.

So, with that big explanation, is there anyway to run a javascript function when the user hits the like button? I could then use that javascript to "unlock" the "go" button.

    Thanks.

I don't know the answer to this question, but I do know that I have installed a test script which allows me to do the task you explained above, you may check that for reference. EDIT: well it seems that I can't post my link, but anyway, it's a viral script.

This is what you need, I have shared it in the Facebook section once before. Just change out the URL the user will see after pressing like and the Your App ID.

What Fuggz says is correct, the only thing is your website will be blocked by facebook after a while since such action is against their policy.
