I don't think I'll promote on it or purchase ad space, just going to quietly social bookmark and leave.. Revenue from those 400 visitors was $0, even with top-notch money site. Not really surprised though.. Anyone else see this happening?

Dude... Redditers are different from normal human beings. You need to become one of them before you can hope to market to them. They have this entire subculture.

I think they can be marketed to, but on THEIR terms. You can't TRICK redditers into buyung anything, they don't trust their own moms.

I wasn't trying to trick anyone or make $ off them. Was just trying to share my information. Posted a few articles spaced out over time in the correct sections, with the correct titles, and nothing deceiving. So become one of them, I've been lurking on that site for years, and I don't think having a ton of Karma is going to do it. Out of the countless # of people there, my little "username" that's barely visible isn't going to brand myself as being a popular member. Reddit seems like a hit it and quit it website model, they view a topic, and get out as fast as possible to look at another. It just moves way too quick to even be considered worthwhile traffic. Sure you might get 1,000's of hits on your popular website article, but will it really generate any money to cover the server costs? I'm starting to doubt it.

Regardless, I'll keep at it, trying to build a brand that people can recognize and remember.
Even if they only visit for a second or two, if they are reading and enjoying my content, then I'm happy.
    Money doesn't always come first...

If your bounce rate is 94% maybe your site is rubbish.

As a Redditor I understand the problem you are having from the side of those thousands flocking to your site.

They are a rare breed and you are lucky that they congregate there instead of spread all over the web. It would be much harder to do any worthwhile BH/GH methods with us lurking at every turn waving big signs at any hint of crap being tossed our way. (This also goes for *****, Slashdot, and others). I am monetizing off Reddit. But you really need to go about this entirely different. I will leave a few tips, and then seal my lips back up. First off, Reddit and Reddit Enhancement Suite are designed to allow the users to never be distracted from the content. Content is king on Reddit. Most redditors will NEVER leave the site with the exception of a few sub-reddits and a few main sites (imgur, quick meme, etc). If the content is so important and the site sucks royally a mirror will be made (usually in the form of an image). Furthermore, there really isn't a centralized user that directs the flow of anything (unlike the way digg used to be), not Karma, or links, or comments. It's about information overload. Not sensationalism (although this helps, but is often called out by users as being headline trap and buried to oblivion). Even more so, there are special ways to create throwaways accounts which are not balked at by the usual redditor. And there are a few sub-reddits that are king.

Tip number one: Don't try to trick them. They will out you in a second. They may even cause harm (not really reddit, but definitely *****).
Tip Number two: I wouldn't bother to pay for an ad, and if you do you should be making it as enticing as a regular link would be or it will fail. And if you can make it as enticing as a regular link then why bother paying :)
Tip Number Three: Niches are the way to go. This is really what Reddit is about. Redditors are people who are highly zealous about things. It can be mainstream content or a super highly detailed niche. They know that niche and not just in a wikipedia sort of way. I mean they are really really into it. No, I mean super interested in a subject. If you don't get it by now I'll say it straight out you need to be knowledgeable about a niche to open your mouth or you will get slammed by them. These are the guys writing the wikipedia content and usually know when something has been regurgitated. Yup, they really know their stuff. Commenting is not about regurgitating things. It's about making you think, in an area that you are already thinking about heavily. It's very hard to trick someone who knows their stuff cold and is only interested in a two way street of highly intelligent information.
Tip Number Four: If you feed the niches groups then expect a shark like frenzy to swarm around your content. This can be good or bad for you and that is where your creativity will come in. But, you can't drop bricks or bombs cuz they will know it and either not respond or will attack back depending on what you toss.
Tip Number Five: Some sub-reddits like humor and others don't, if you respond inappropriately then you will be treated in an ill manner or your efforts will be ignored.
Tip Number Six: Unlike the rest of the internet there is a sense of helping and camaraderie on Reddit and if you disrupt that it will come back to haunt you. This friendship begins subtly with humor in the more general sub-reddits, then continues with knowledge exchange in the more detailed niches, and ends with actual assistance in the highly focused niches (redditors gifting things to each other as a surprise bc they know each other so well, physical meetups, sending random pizza to people who are hungry, buying things from redditors who create things, loans, places to sleep, referring doctors for those with gender sexual and inequality issues, etc, etc.)

If you want to try to just shove a product, that really cool, then head over to reddit and find the sub-reddit called shutupandtakemymoney

Hope this helps you out. It's not for the feint of heart.

You are correct bro. They are really strange. BTW the only benefit of them is the link other than that reddit is pathetic. Not sure about others but it always was pretty aweful for me. I would try other methods to get traffic then reddit I think. I am sure some guys will give you good tips though.

I've been using Reddit for a while now. The method that I've found that works for me is YouTube videos. Making vids may take a while, but If you're running a legit channel, and the video fits the niche, they love it! And their love is very beneficial to you. My subs have increased as well as my comments etc. The good thing is these are all legit. Reddit is much better than those sites that just boost your views without likes and comments.

Just don't do be stupid and throw content locked stuff in straight away etc. In fact I wouldn't bother even trying to post a vid with CL stuff, you'll be slaughtered. I've used YouTube to make money online now for years and the best method I can suggest is playing the long game. Build slowly and you will make bank. If used correctly Reddit turbo charges that slow building process.

Getting 400 viewers is itself a achievement and yes You Tube videos is great source to reach your target audience.

You just need to be authentic and creative on reddit. Actually that pretty much applies to everything.

I had posted some real things on Reddit and got picked apart. The people that claim something on their, or their supposed profession are generally lying scumbags just trolling that site. Reddit seems like a big waste of time. Any useful information does get killed from what I have seen and only retarded humor seems to stay at the top.

I have tried to using Reddit, and ya... i agree with your problem.

I was using StumbleUpon and it's works. When i submit my links into SU, google also crawl my link.

I have the same problem with Redditors - when I submit a link there my traffic will increase a lot, they're all interested in the content, but my Adsense clicks stay the same, none of them ever clicks my damn ads!
