It depends on the subreddits that you are commenting on.
Usually what people would do is they would find the busiest subreddits in their niche and they would first post high-quality content that everybody would agree is high quality.
These are usually content that's published by the most authoritative blogs in your niche.
And when do you this and you're not posting links, people will start to see that you're legit, that you really care, that you're really paying attention to the conversations.
Next, you then start sharing the text of your blog posts without the link.
When you do this, it further solidifies you as an expert.
And then finally, you start a subreddit where you publish a little bit of your content as well as the link to your blog and you start promoting this through cross-posting.
This is very tricky because if you haven't done the steps that I have described above, chances are, you will be banned.
Chances are, all your posts will be deleted.
But if you did it right and you're legit and people can tell that you've taken the time and you're paying close attention to details, and you go out of your way to help people, then you will be able to pull this off.
But don't be abusive.
Don't think that this gives you a license.
You just talk about your stuff all day every day.
That's not gonna cut it.
You have to mix in high-quality, third-party content first.
Start with a 90-10 mix, and then 80-20, then 70-30, then maybe capped it off at 50-50.
But beyond that, it's really too much.
Beyond that, you're just pushing it.
You have to understand that Reddit is very suspicious of self-promotion.
So consider yourself warned.
When you have a subreddit that you're promoting through this approach, make sure that you actually engage with the members of your subreddit.
If you play your cards right, your subreddits would have enough traffic of their own so you don't have to screw around with the bigger subreddits in your niche on Reddit.
