It never ceases to amaze me how much free time people on reddit have to make a deep background check on you and then try to report and "protect" other people from your posts/comments.

That's "Doxxing"

I wouldn't be suprised if people could not band together and form a class action lawsuit on reddit for that

Reddit //
This is the website reddit.com ; A social media platform.

Subreddit //
The individual forums that make up the entire reddit community. (ie: r/Funny ) . Some also refer to this as a 'sub'

Cakeday //
The birthday of your reddit account.

Karma //
Reddit's point system. You gain karma when up-voted by other redditors for a post or comment. You also get karma for giving or receiving rewards.

Reddit Moderators //
The people who administrate each subreddit. Most are cool but few are only there to keep the majority of users from reaching maximum viral status without paying them back-door

AMA //
Ask Me Anything. When users of different professions allow Reddit users to ask them any questions in a 'public interview' of sorts

Brigading //
coordinated up-voting or down-voting of a post by a group of users

Flair //
Customizable badge for posts to help categorize the post

Sockpuppet Accounts aka Throwaways //
An 'extra' account created by someone to post in anonymity


AITA //
Am I The Asshole . When people make a post on reddit trying to find out if they were 'villain' in the situations

CMV //
Change My View; indicates a post of a person with a strong opinion looking to debate, and see if someone can change their view on the topic.

DAE //
Does Anyone Else; indicates a post looking to see if other people have a similar habit or way of thinking on a specific topic

ELI5 //
Explain Like I'm 5 . This was created when moderators tried to lie about their true intentions on the site and ... Lol. Joking. This just means Tell me things in a very simple format. "Layman's Terms"

RTFA //

Would you log-in to a website that's sure to have a negative effect on your soul energy? According to a new report from NewScientist.com, logging into reddit may be doing exactly that. A recent analysis was done on 1.2-million reddit user profiles. The study found that 16% of redditor's posts were toxic comments such as insults or harassment. That's a whopping 1 in 8 user posting negativity. A number that makes escaping the 'bad vibes' almost impossible.

Hind Almerekhi, while at Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Qatar (UAE), studied the content mass with the help of a group of colleagues. The team filtered and reviewed over 2-billion posts from more than 1.2-million users, with a desire to understand redditor user behavior and effects of the site. The 2-billion posts and comments studied ranged in date from 2005 to 2020; With the team only allowing posts made from redditors that were active on the top 100 subreddits.

Almerekhi and her team were not responsible for judging the level of toxicity within the posts & comments. The team hired others via a crowdsourcing platform to manually label the toxicity of posts, with each post being judged by at least 3 people.

"Highly toxic, slightly toxic and not toxic" were the 3 labels users could rate the reddit posts and comments as, according to NewScientist. And definitions of each label were given to judges as well, before rating the content. "Highly toxic" is reddit posts that included direct insults and swear words. Slightly toxic was used to label posts that included milder insults (example: idiot). Non-toxic had no insults.

End results of the tests found judges rating 2% of posts and 6% of comments highly toxic and offensive. An additional 7% of posts and 11.5% of comments were found to be slightly toxic. The rest were considered non-toxic.

Behaviors of 4 out of 5 'toxic redditors' changed, depending on the subreddit which they were posting in.

These tests were only ran within 'mainstream reddit.' Savvas Zannettou at the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands says the level of toxicity likely increases in some of the lesser known groups.

This comes after TIME Magazine releasing a story (see here) about how Reddit's refusing to put clamps on racism and hate speech. And not only that but moderators of subreddit communities say hate speech is flourishing on the community.

Now on Day-2 , i need to review my old notes and figure out how I can boost the comment karma. Today, if you want a profile you can use at maximum potential you need 1000+ comment karma .

And some people say you can just copy old posts but I dont do this. I think that's an easy way to get flagged b/c mods will look at your profile and if it' not original content they see --- they will see through the BS. Keep it natural, the only true way.

Im also staying away from NSFW group b/c they get your profile marked NFSW at times.

Going to comment 3-5 pots on every subreddit I try to post today. That way I'm not only 'posting' but also have live comment activity to show Im not a bot

Interesting journey. I read your posts in this thread and decided to post in the 2 subreddits you posted in. The result was beyond expectations. A photo of my own that I posted received over 1500 upvotes. After 4 posts karma went from 1001 to 2100+ in about 24 hours. Karma does not increase symmetrically with upvotes.

On top of that I get an award (cash burn), I honestly don't know what it is with these awards and if they are worth anything. And I got an avatar for the top redditor (I think it's a kind of NFT because it's minted and appears in polygonscan).

I also created a subreddit to see if I can increase it, so far 6 subscribers.

I'll follow this thread with interest to see where you end up!

If people simply do exactly what I do / post in the same places the day after I post results. They should get similiar

5k-10k+ karma

I know some extra moves to make in certain subs and have some ways to boosting overall effect but a basic post should still get outstanding results

Got over 2000 karma yesterday but as Ive stated before; Once you pass an unknown limit, the upvotes count as less. The Post with 2000+ votes, I believe its count for less and less, the higher it goes.

Also, notice I didnt really get much comment karma. You really have to be quite well timed to strike gold on the comment karma.
