Reddit Moderation Issues.

I've noticed that any links are being removed now. I also noticed that 80% of existing posts (1+ years old) that are SERP/LLM cited have comments turned off. For 18 months I was running organic Reddit and it was amazing, I feel like I have to change my entire service model.

That being said whats everyone's take on todays extreme Reddit moderation?

Reddit has been aggressively purging self-promotion for a while now. Most successful accounts just share value first and link in comments only when asked. You might need to shift focus to building genuine community engagement instead of direct linking. We are also working on an Automated solution for AI search engine optimization and it s been hella of a journey. I even got my own account banned from a simple comment they re so strict now like never before

Same, my aged 6 year account just got shadow banned and I cannot post anymore.
 
reddits been using account trust signals, not just content. aged accounts with activity spikes get flagged even if your content is clean. the 80% comments turned off thing is them preemptively killing engagement on suspected botted posts, thats pretty new
 
same here, lost 2 aged accounts in the last month and both were clean, just posting more than usual
stopped putting links anywhere. now i just answer the question properly and mention the brand name, no link. ppl google it. works way better than getting nuked and the mods dont care since theres nothing to remove
 
I think the opportunity is still there, but the service probably has to shift from “get links onto Reddit” toward actually building useful discussions/brand presence.
 
reddit seems a lot stricter now
i didn't do anything wrong and I was terminated
