I was told there was suspicious activity on my account so it was locked and I had to reset my password.

Now when I login it keeps saying "Incorrect username or password".

I am 100% sure the password I entered is correct because I copy and pasted it.

I've been trying to reset the password for over a week now via the password reset link sent to my email but the password doesn't actually change.

So now I have no way to access my account!

I've tried contacting the reddit admins on their zendesk support page but they keep sending me the same automated replies about using the password reset link process.

The account is not banned because I can see the profile via https://www.reddit.com/u/username or https://old.reddit.com/u/username

What should I do now?

TLDR; account is locked, account is not banned, password reset doesn't change the password, I can't login, reddit admins don't help.

It looks you got phished by a hacker.Did you check the origin of the email?

No no no, I'm 100% sure it was a real email.

I went to https://www.reddit.com/password at first before requesting the password reset email.

I'm pretty sure reddit flagged my account because I registered this account more than 5 years ago as a throwaway with random details but it's only now that I wanted to use it.

Reddit have locked my account and now the password reset process doesn't actually change the password.

Also thanks, I love this username, it's highly anonymous.

Also cute profile picture if that is really you.
