    This is the right usage for the term "hack."

    What you guys refer to is "crack."

    Probably because they know the correct meaning of the words "hack" or "hacking".

    Hacking is just a style of writing and modifying code to make a program do what you want it to do. In the context it's used in this story it's the correct word to use.

    Actually, the term "hacking" "hacker" and generally "hack" comes from the students at MIT who used typewrites back in the days and wrote so fast it made a "hacking" sound. Thence the term "hack" and all words subject to this.
    //English lesson.

    Seems impressive though. Good that Amazon paid his checks or they'd be shat on by the "reddit effect."
