Can someone please recommend a uk merchant for taking payment without a set up fees. Atleast some merchant you've used before or currently using.

Everybody charges fee. How else would they make money?

that appears to be a gateway provider you will still need a merchant account to tie that into.

Besides there much more expensive. I know a gateway that only charges between 17 to 25 cents per transaction only depending on volume. No monthly fee or anything
