I'm asking for some advice on this one. I received a good sized order ($2000) for some social marketing services. The customer ordered from a verified Paypal account then never messaged me or provided me their order details. I have sent numerous messages and nobody replies. Should I just refund the order or wait and see if they message me?

Call Paypal, explain the situation and ask them if they can provide a phone number or any other detail so you can get it sorted.

If nothing works for you, you can send it over to my account.

Similar thing happened to a friend of mine...a guy sent him $15k for a website and never contacted him again about the actual domain transfer, so he couldn't even send it over. Can you be more on the right place during the right time? :biggrin1:

Thats weird. Really weird. Mostly its the seller who disappears :p
If I were you, I'd try contacting him, if he still fails to respond for up to 2 weeks, then I'd refund him. Easy come, easy go.

    Or............ Keep it ;)

Just messing. You should probably refund it or it might come back to bite you in the ass later.

Oh and it's moral too. ;)

something might have happened to him accidently and thats why he is not responding.. best would be to contact paypal and see if they can give you a phone to contact him directly

Since everyone is suggesting OP to contact PayPal and get the phone number, I thought I'd ask this, won't PayPal inquire as to why OP requires his phone number. And OP has mentioned that the services were for social media. Won't PP mark the transaction as fraudulent?

By starting this thread it looks as if you're waiting for someone to tell you to not worry and keep the money.

If no services have been provided and you haven't heard back from the person I would do a full refund and move on.

Transfer these monkeys to your bank account, if buyer contact you then offer your services instead of refund.

Buyers can file chargebacks up to 120 days after an order was place. Keep the money. Dont spend it for 4 months. Wait for the chargeback period to expire. If he contacts you....do the order, if he wants a refund, give him the refund. But don't just send him the money back, thats ridiculous.

Why shouldn't he send the money back? He hasn't done or yet completed any service.
