I recently purchased a domain through Bluehost for my Wordpress site. I can go to the site and edit it as I please, but I have been having trouble moving it from wordpress.com to wordpress.org. Also, when I look up who owns the site, the registrar is Wild West Domains, LLC. Can anyone clarify why this is happening and if I actually own the domain? I purchased it around 2 weeks.
    Thanks.

Wordpress.com is like blogger, it's a web 2.0 platform that they host for you. Wordpress.org is for your own self-hosted sites. How do you not know this? The part I don't understand is why would OP buy a domain from a hosting company

Of course I know wordpress is a web.20 platform, but I though Op's using that as a example to ask people how to change a .org to a .com for a actual own hosted site. I though he was new and don't understand that the extensions is not changeable

You're probably right. @OP let me see if i got this right. You have an existing wordpress blog on a www.xxxxx.wordpress.com domain. You bought a hosting package form bluehost with a domain and you want to move your wordpress blog over to your domain and hosting? Is this right? Wild West Domains, LLC is most likely just the company your domain was registered through. It's probably where bluehost gets their domains. They would be the registrar and you are the registrant (owner)

I will not ask you to post the domain name here in public forum.
You can PM me the domain name and I can look into the issue.

I just love how people love to confuse people. If you don't understand move on and don't respond.

Wild West Domains, LLC is a domain registrar like eNom or Namecheap. More questions? Google "domain registrar".

Is this a new domain or is this a previously registered domain? You've not given us much detail to help you with.

Though, unless you clicked the wrong button or paid for the wrong thing, it's probably yours.

I do understand the OP's question. It is simple yet it lacks the details for an adequate answer.

I replied to inform the OP of whom/what Wild West Domains, LLC is and given tips for further research.

The OP is obviously confused but can put a sentence or two together; just enough to comprehend for someone who doesn't overthink.

I was trying to quote your previous reply but it wouldn't let me, so here goes my reply to your previous post:

"You're thinking too much, implying it on others, and confusing not only yourself, but everyone else too."

I think you need some sleep or something

Read your first sentence a couple of time and see if it make sense. You say you do understand his question and then goes on saying the question is lack of detail for a proper answer.

So, do you understand his question or not? bipolar symptoms?
The thing that ticks me is your first comment saying why did all of you commented when you don't understand Op's question, you don't either. So, it makes both of your comment invalid

The question of Mr. fredfred547 is very simple he bought a domain 2 weeks ago from bluehost.com lets say the domain was http://www.xxxxxxx.com and he had a free blog on wordpress.com but now he want to migrate his site to a paid hosting and he will surely download a wordpress copy from wordpress.org ( CMS and themese e.t.c) so basically OP : MR. fredfred547 noticed that his site http://www.xxxxxxx.com or what ever domain is showing a whois info of some Wild West Domains, LLC. so the OP got confused that he paid some dollars for the domain registration but the domain whois is not showing his whois details or contact info on his own domain.

    So, first:
in order to migrate/shift your site you need to contact BlueHost.com and tell them to point your domain to your paid hosting or else you may do it from your domain control panel.
    Regarding domain whois lookup.
don't worry about that most of the time domains show their registrar company info too. there is nothing to worry about.

PS: its much better to contat the BlueHost.com support for further clarification instead of asking on BHW. BlueHost.com support will provide you better information.

Perfect, this is exactly what I needed to read. Thanks for the clear and concise answer. One more thing though... Since I am migrating my site to paid hosting through wordpress.org, do I just contact Bluehost? I feel like support from wordpress.org would also have to be present.

Well, maybe you need a break? papa_ji seems to get where I'm coming from.

Let me guess, English isn't your first language?

    Spoon feed much?

I can't post links but if you Google "How to migrate a WordPress site bluehost" without the quotes, you'll find your answer directly from Bluehost. You can always get in touch with their support.

It's not how a forum works buddy. if you want to help someone, you ask the OP to clear up the question, not try to jump in on the thread and try to take it somewhere else.

    Move on!!
