HI All,

I am receiving huge amount of direct traffic on my website. It is an IT company website. We haven't bought any traffic. I think this traffic is being generated by bots.

So, can you guys please suggest the ways to stop bot direct traffic to my website?

Use Cloudflare on your website and change on Under Attack if you yet give amount of traffic. After attack stop, you can change on normal mode but use cloudflare from now :)

Does it also work for website developed in ASP.net

Cloudflare works for any website and is very easy to use. If you want something that protect you from hacker attacks and similar you want to look into sucuri.net it's a paid service but cheap compared to what you get!

Can I use its basic plan or do I need to buy a paid version?

Actually, I only want to stop direct bot traffic.

cloudflare is free and you can use the basic plan! But if things get more nasty and if they try to take down your website by hacking your server or website you will need to pay either CloudFlare or Sucuri to protect your website.. I used the latter because it stops it right away and they have an awesome support!

Use cloudflare, or check your server stats to see if there is a pattern from the IP addresses/locations and block them.

There's ways to do this without paid services. Through your site's .htaccess file, you can block referrer spam or even a whole IP range.
