Reasonable expectation from EMD

Was having some fun last night taking huge lists of words and putting them into domain samurai looking for emds.

Found one.... 800,000 monthly searches. I am kinda curious about the domain extension and if it is a bust. The .com was parked, .net was 404ed, so i bought the .org.

The top 3 positions are a facebook group, youtube video, and a news story.

It is in the holiday niche, so i know monetizing it wont be a problem. I am just curious if anybody else has tried tackling such a huge keyword and the results you got.

Was gunna start small and buy a few guest blogs.

sure start slow and start small, looks like you have an amazing profitable niche in your belt.

I got hold of a keyword with 165000 monthly searches and with few bookmarks, some do-follow comments links i was able to get to first page in about 30 days time where first page was dominated by yt videos, yahoo answers, stackexchange and few reputed sites.

So, i think you can really hit hard on this keyword.

Don't think that the .org will hurt me?

I have seen .orgs rank before, but i have never tried anything besides.coms. Wasn't sure if they required a ton of extra effort or not.

No i think .com .net or .org will be ok for ranking terms

absolutely not.

How many unique articles would you guys put on a site if you are only targeting 1 keyword? I know other keywords will come out of it, but i am not worried about a wide variety of KW quite yet. Was gunna start out with 4x1000 word articles.

The .org is not going to hurt you.

As far as content, if you are actually tackling a keyword that has 800,000 monthly searches, I would probably recommend more than 4 x 1000 articles.
