Just like the title says, do y'all think SEO + content sites is still a viable means of survival now or should we just find real jobs instead?

Everyone is complaining, all the sites I have analyzed so far are down bad in terms of organic traffic, nobody is winning except Reddit. Things are getting real serious.

Sites getting deindexed here and there making me wonder if I can even continue with this.

What do you guys think? Are you still building new sites or are diversifying to a different business model entirely?

I really doesn't matter at this point. I'm talking because I've seen a lot of hand written sites that "add value" being run to the ground by Google.
Did they branch out to Youtube?

It's like asking if SEO is dead?

Nothing really dies, just upgrades.

People who earn with SEO have no reason to brag about their success.

They will rather tell, yeah SEO is dead.

If you don't seek for new ways to rank and explore everything you notice, then expect that day is coming, when SEO is dead for you.

I'm not asking if SEO is dead, rather I'm asking if content sites with SEO is still a viable business model with the current updates. These are completely different things.

You have to add value.
That is what Google said doesn't necessarily mean it'll work. Quite a lot of sites actually add value but still get tanked. To the OP, if you must continue you should consider diversifying your traffic sources.

Health, Adult, Gaming, Casino, Dating, Movies, Live Sports

List goes on, you just have to enter some keywords and see for yourself.

Of course you think SEO is currently dead with that attitude. That's funny. GL

This literally happens with every single update. Those not serious drop off. And the other sites adapt keep pushing and eventually start growing again.

The same pattern happens with the social media algorithms. I suspect it is a quick way for them to test which ones are quality content and filter out most of the spam.

It discourages newbies that dont have much to invest or never had success before.

The OGs in the game just create more projects and keep the grind going.

Hi I think content sites optimized with SEO are still very much effective and relevant. Of course new updates make this work more difficult, but not critical. While it's always wise to diversify income streams, creating and optimizing content for the web remains a viable and potentially lucrative career path, not just a temporary job.

SEO remains highly relevant in 2024, and here is why:
  • It is important for successful digital marketing efforts and can impact the visibility and traffic of your website.
  • At the same time without SEO, your site might get lost among the other websites on the Internet.
  • Algorithm updates continue to rank high-quality content in SERP, where some believe SEO strategies are not important for content writing.
  • Though the content is good, it is not found organically by the search engine.
  • Content-making won't help unless the site is user-friendly.
  • If you are considering content sites, remember that SEO can make a significant difference in your online presence.
