I have this real jacktard competitor on eBay that can't handle competition. If I so much as put an item on sale for a price lower than his, he loses it. Lately to the point of sending harrassing and threatening emails. There's more, but I'll keep it short and get to his latest stunt - I noticed after a couple pissed off messages from him a few sales came in on my cheapest items all from buyers in the same vincinity as my competitor's location. This immediately threw up a red flag, but I wanted more than suspicion, I wanted definitive proof. So I threw up a hail mary and typed his name in on Facebook - sure enough I found him and to my joy his friends list was public, and what do you know all of the buyer names from the suspicious orders matched friends of his. :haha: I'm thinking I have him by the balls at this point, so I place a call to eBay only to be told that they can't use any "evidence" from outside of the eBay system. So what should I do?

I've tried to bait one of these people in to admitting they know competitor so that I can nail him to the cross for this, but so far I've got no response. I'm thinking since I'm going to get a neg regardless I should just cancel the transaction, refund their money, and refuse to ship the items. If he gets away with this I plan on full retaliation, so I'd love to hear ideas for that as well.

Report them to eBay and also message them the nasty messages. If online doesn't work then call them up until they do something about it.

Sellers take to much shit from just regular buyers doing bs stuff.

something similar happened to me. long story short.
    1. if the item is paid for by the buyer, you refuse to ship, and you refund him (for whatever reason), the buyer is still entitled to give you a negative. IT is just how ebay freaking operates.
    2. the only way to not receive the negative i believe is if you request a transaction cancellation and the buyer accepts it, however they have the option to not accept and you still have to refund them obviously.

    hope this helps.

o ya i forgot to mention, if you receive a negative feedback from a suspected competitor and you can prove it, EBAY will remove that feedback. i read that somewhere, but i think the DSR stays. NOT 100% sure but am somewhat postive.

You said you have all his details.
Just open a new eBay account with his details and make this account get banned, it will affect his real account and also will get banned.
Just play his game bro, if he his nasty be nastier !! :D

Thanks, it is the DSR that concerns me the most, because I have been selling for less than a year and don't have enough offsetting DSRs to handle this, if all these people left 1 star ratings it would result in my suspension. So question, if I refund their money can they still leave DSR too?

Also as I said, I can prove it via Facebook, but eBay will only allow proof from within eBay. I'm wondering if he was stupid enough to PayPal these people the money to pay for the item...

You should contact the competitor and ask to mutually settle and threaten him that you can do the same to his account.

I'd send the item with tracking number and everything, so when you get negative feedback you can talk to eBay to get it deleted.

it happened to me back in 98 when i was a powerseller, i tell you the best thing to do, is start your own online store, leave eBAy, they only look after the buyer's, you can probably start your own website for the price of a listing fee these days

Cancel and refund all those sales. Compile a folder of evidence then contact the guy and tell him that if he continues with this nonsense then you will take things much further. Ask him if he really wants to lose his business like this. Tell him if he doesn't want to play fair then you will be contacting eBay.

What you have to do is call Ebay and tell them your situation. Emailing will get you nowhere, but when you speak to them over the phone they are very receptive.

I just lost an account that was 8 years old and the DSR was great for the last 12 month. BUT the DSR dropped in the last 30 days and then again the next month (the next month I sold alot but didn't get enough turds to leave feedback). To qualify for substandard gay bay looks at last 30 days, they don't care about 8 years of DSR average or 1 year. Stealth often to stay alive.

Personally deliver the item(s) to his shipping address. When you meet him there , warn him sternly about posting false negative feedback in person. After your lecture say : "watch it , i know where you live now"

Contact ebay and let them know of the issue. I am sure they will assist you.
