Hey there, nice to meet you all.

Just want to start by introducing myself. My name is Jack and am one of the main event organisers of Santa Pod Raceway, UK. Santa Pod is the home of European Drag Racing and host to the televised FIA / FIM European Drag Racing Championships. It's the fastest and loudest motorsport on earth with sensational race action from dragsters and doorslammers to beetles and bikes. Although my main focus are Jap Show events (Japanese car enthusiasts), I find myself quite involved with the drag racing events.

Anyway, I decided to get a little more involved with social media not so long ago, I was always a fan of Facebook but never really got round to creating an Instagram or Twitter account.

I decided to create a more ?businessy? account in the car niche, as it is an obvious interest to me and I have heard of ways to make money from it. So, here?s my plan:

I have invested quite a bit of money in shoutouts from various related niche pages, and have built up around 10,000 followers. These followers aren?t all from Instagram shoutouts, probably 2-5K are from shoutouts but the rest are from real-life shoutouts! I tend to grab the microphone every so often during events and get the audience to follow the account. Obviously there are thousands of people there, probably 5% actually listen to me and do it. Even then, their Instagram followers see them engaging with my account and I get followed their car enthusiast friends, too.

The season is starting again in October, so I aim to reach about 3-5K more for that weeks event (no shoutouts). Very confident I can do this :)

So, currently gaining about 500 - 1000 likes per photo, which I think is pretty high for the amount of followers? I am selling shoutouts for around $50 - $75 and have currently sold 5. Three of them from the the Drag Racing event. They each received around 300-500 followers from this - and I think they will be purchasing more.

I will let you know how my journey goes in this thread :) Any questions, please ask

Hello, nice to meet you. I'm also from the UK and am into modding cars etc. too. I have heard of Santa Pod and am looking to go in October as it happens - would love a discounted ticket ;)Also, that is genuinely amazing. Not a lot of people have the ability to do stuff like that, I will be requesting a shoutout from you for sure. Good luck with your journey

Nice, I have a couple of pages in the car niche on InstaGram. Once of which I started just a few days ago and already has 2,500 followers with around 300 likes per photo.

That's great. The car niche is such a good niche as it targets so many people. Good luck with your pages and hopefully we'll work together soon

    Just a quick update:

Sold 6 more shoutouts (now a total of 9) - gained around 900 followers this week. Slow progress is better than no progress :p

Since you're part of an organization, have you tried selling tshirts? I feel that's another way to monetize your traffic.
