    Hi,

Many Universities and colleges allow their students to have a private blog on their websites. For example, deanza community college in Cupertino, a friend of mine has his blog on voyager.deanza.edu/~hisblog.

I was interested in buying real college links but I can not really reach students..

My budget is about $25 per home page link.

    What do you suggest?

    Thanks!

There was a guy who had a BST here selling edu links and blogs, they were pretty cheap from what I remember.

Watch out for low quality .edu redirects being sold as links.

You might want to try hiring a researcher to trawl through tons of high PR .edu blogs and contact students. It's a numbers game but if you can get a cheap enough VA it might pan out.

Run an add on Craigslist under computer gigs in a college town.

$25 is too much (unless it is a VERY highly rated school) if they are just creating the blog ($10 is closer), and forget homepage (the home page of the blog is not the home page of the university and related is better that non related.), make them blog in an article about whatever you are promoting as if they used it. Make the post relevant, as if a college student really did that.

Even home services can be done this way: "We had a party and I had to get the carpet cleaned before my parents came home so I called XXX..." or " we were horsing around and knocked a hole in the wall. Had to call out this guy, XXXX, to fix it.."

If the blog is established, and you get the related article, its worth $25. Many of these blogs will be deleted when the student leaves the school (some each semester), so they are not permanent links in many cases.

I used to search on Google for .edu and .gov domains that contained WPMU and allowed for anyone to register a new blog. Found quite a few actually, but this was years ago.

Why can't you get your friend to give you a link and then refer you to other students he knows? Its all about getting in touch with appropriate students.
