Does readability affect your ranking in google?

Now what I am asking is not where you simply have gibberish or a markov chain, etc. I mean you have good valid content that is graded as hard to read. Sort of like a scholarly article for example.

    These are the scales used

    Flesch-Kincaid Reading Ease

    Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level

    Gunning-Fog Score

    Coleman-Liau Index

    SMOG Index

    Automated Readability Index

They are from a wordpress seo plugin. Called easy seo. And of course they can also be found as separate formulas on the net.

Will a level of difficult affect your ranking?

Right now, not so much (some people suggest not at all and rank with absolutely unreadable content and laugh about it all the way to the bank).

In due time, oh yeah. Semantic searching + grammar checking might make the IM game implode. The thing is, what is the line between "unreadable" and not having high enough proficiency in English? It'll be interesting to see a bot that could tell the difference between a foreign speaker, someone who uses English poorly but is native, and horribly spun content
