I may not be at that point in my life, where I can offer countless success stories of my own. However I do know a thing or two about losing hope.

Mega-short personal story; I lived with an older sister (by 2 years) with a very short temper. I love her to death and beyond as I do all of my family, though I realized very early that when God tests us, he leaves nobody out. Not even loved ones.
Her and my father were the largest tests of my young life, always getting in a fight I never started was normal, and being thrown into a wall for getting a school subject wrong was commonplace.
Here I stand now, 21 years on earth and using the tools provided to build a wonderful future, even if I don't get to experience it myself. Just 3 years ago I got into fitness and health, but obsessed over it as I get very passionate about things I enjoy. All I remember is having more fun with my now ex-gf before I got into fitness, than when I took it too seriously. Many celebrations I foolishly missed out on.

Shortly after this period of time, I began to experience choking-like symptoms. To this day I assume it's something I did when lifting wrong, and no doctor has pinpointed the cause even with of years of tests. Henceforth I've slowly lost the ability to eat solid food. The foods I used to blend give me trouble so I heavily rely on milk, condiments and gerber. Needless to say there are few things I miss more than the days I could eat with my family, and take my ex out to dinner.

Before this prolongs any further, I'd like to ask you something. What do you crave? What do you wake up everyday believing in, even when it's out of your reach?

    Do you have your answer?

    Good.

Never forget it. Never forget it damnit. My foot will go so far up your ass.

Just a thought: for all these motivation threads, I'm not sure that it's usually motivation that's lacking; rather it's strength.

Nobody is motivated to do greulling, rigorous work (which let's face it is the main ingredient for success). That's never something to get excited about. So "lack of motivation" isn't really something to overcome; it's just weakness that must be overcome.
