I woke up this morning and got an email from a paypal. The email looks like this

Beware of this email guys! Ignore it!

God Bless!

these guys are always putting so much effort into putting up these sites. why do they always have spelling errors in their emails? :D and if it would be a policy update, there probably wouldn't be an "unsubscribe" link.

I use to get that one around six months ago. Now I get something that says "verify the purchase you just made" or "someone is using your account!" Very relentless and resourceful people. This must be profitable for them.

I got one last week from paypal asking me if I tried to purchase a generator from oversees. When I called, paypal where unaware of any email. When I looked closer at the email, I noticed they had spelled generator "generater"

I suck at spelling.

Sorry.

It could be a valid email? The .sg link points to this:
https://email0.paypal.com/servlet/cc6?iitH[truncated]

But the Terms and Conditions, Unsubscribe, and the Paypal link at the top all point to the same address I posted about.
I'm confused :|

IP Address of paypal.com: 173.0.84.35
IP Address of paypal.com.sg: 173.0.85.74

NO IT IS A SCAM!

Do not respond.

Easy way to find out if it is bogus.

Do a Google search for the PayPal sign-in link, and log into your account via that link. DO NOT USE the link in the email.

If there are any official policy updates for you, they will be listed in your account notifications.

Got that too. But if you go to the paypal link, you're logged into the account too, at least that's what they say. Didn't bother to do anything to it though.
I think it will have a high "conversion rate" based on its "legitimacy scoring". Muahaha!

lol... email is genuine man, PayPal always send policy updates to the email you have registered on account. I received a few of this same emails on my different accounts every policy update but I never bother to check it out anyway.

Stop being paranoid, you guys became so blackhat that you couldn't sniff out a real vs phished page?

I've been using my Singaporean PayPal via that domain for years

I got one today saying that the purchase I attempted was declined. The email came from a yahoo.com address and the fool did a CC to everyone that he sent it to... LOL what a way to give away your email list... LOL

yup very very genuine, I got the same update today, there is a singapore paypal that looks after most of asia

I also received it, and when I hover over the link,

xm8YR

On clicking, I get to
Code:
http://www.paypal.com.sg/sg

On clicking "Login", I was sent to the following URL:
Code:
https://www.paypal.com/sg/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_login-run&dispatch=*removed*

And the username field already had my email.

So doesn't seem much like a scam.

where the hell did they get my paypal primary email id from? i never gave that to anyone :o
