This question is being asked a lot and quite honestly... I don't get it. A month subscription to Rapid$hare only costs $7 and then you can download products worth $1,000's ... and make $10,000's along the way if you care to *use* the information.

Is everybody who is asking for a MediaFire upload too thrifty to invest $7? Or is it something else? In that case, would somebody be so kind to explain that to me?

Because I may be mistaking - but it looks very ungrateful to me if somebody who uploaded a few Gb's of a pricy product, is being asked if he would like to upload it again for those that aren't even willing to invest $7.

Again, my apologies if I'm wrong, but speaking for myself - the $25 sponsorship to BHW and the subscription to Rapidshare more than paid for themselves... hundreds if not thousands of times over.

    Rant over - :)

I just don't get it either...
but as you said...maybe some people do have a -good- reason why they ask, and would also be glad to learn it...

I think it's because they're download junkies and hit their free limit very quickly. I haven't had a premium account for a while now, which i'm quite proud of, because following someone's advice on here, i decided to try and kick the downloading habit and stop downloading all the shit we have access too. I still have shit loads of stuff, 99.99999% i'll never even look at, but it's no longer on my pc, but stored, in case i hit a road block, externally.

Step one was admitting i had a problem, step 2 is kicking the habit, stage 3 will be the complete format and stage 4 will be taking action. I'm still in recovery, have pretty much kicked the habit, just need to make it over the hill to the "take action" stage. :D

I don't want to speak for others, but I thought I've seen people say that they cannot access rapidshare in their country. That could be it - but I could be wrong.

I think its because its much easier and conveneient to download from mediafire as compared to rapidshare. Especially now, with rapidshare's stupid "cat captcha"

Why everyone need to pay rapidshare when there are other sites provide same servers free or some times even pay for using it ?

I only rarely reach the rapidshare download limits (because my slow net connection, i do not download larger files, also don't get time to read or use the downloaded files) and i don't think it is worth buying a premium account from rapidshare.

Keep in mind, that for an average American or British, $7 is a crap. But for many countries, specially Asian countries, $7 is not what you are supposed to spend for some thing that you can get for free.

Well... I personally mostly DL big video files. And the convenience of a RS account is just something I consider part of the best invested buck online...
You can hack RS and have it for free, did you know ? (if your time is valued that low)

And in countries where it might be censored, you still can have a proxy set.

...Many members, including myself, had serious problems with Rapidshare's captcha system, which at best, is very confusing, especially to noobies or when viewing on a small monitor.

When there are so many other systems available it is not unreasonable to be asked to use them especially as one such request has come from one of the forum administrators.

While $7.00 should not be a problem for anyone here, it is not good business practice to pay for something which is available free elsewhere, otherwise there would be no one here.

It is not the principle -It is the money! lol

You are absolutely right, so many file sharing breakouts and arguments, lash-outs and tears. Rapidshare is the leading choice, get with it! /Rant

Its not a matter of whether one can afford to pay $7 or NOT, rather an issue of not shelling out a dime for something you can get for FREE. Im pretty sure decent BH marketers including me can even afford a $100 a month subscription. Why would I pay for RS when I can change IP, use proxies and/or refresh my connection to be able to unlimitedly download to RS?

I dont think you should be ranting about this petty issue
People asks for a mediafire link because its the easiest way to download (though not as reliable as RS) and some finds it hard to cheat RS

This forum is binded by esprit de corps

If seeing people asking for a mediafire link irritates you, then you may need to rethink whether a forum really is a medium suited for you

Wow... I said it looked kind of "ungrateful" to me. I didn't say it irritated me. Actually, I think my wording was pretty friendy and open minded. I merely mentioned the word "rant" in the subject to attrack attention. Which worked out pretty well, didn't it?

(Sidenote: That's what forums are for, I think. Which is all I say in response to your last remark.)

Personally I like Rapidshare pretty much. It's fast, convenient, reliable and cheap. I prefer paying a little here and there over having to change my IP or using proxies. Fortunately I have that choice.

But obviously a lot of people look at this differently - and I wondered why. Hence this thread.

All of you thanks for your responses... obviously there are mixed reasons. It's about money (indeed - $7 is much more in Asia than it is in the Western world... I know that but I didn't realize that), but obviously it's also a principal matter - many BHW members don't want to pay for something they can get for free. Apparently they prefer spending a little time and effort over paying a few bucks.

So... if anybody knows which service is convenient for both (1) people that are willing to pay a little AND (2) for people that can't or won't, *I* won't mind using that service over Rapid$hare. But as it currently is, I think I'll stick to Rapid$hare.

Rapidshare's reliability isnt a question at and shouldnt be debated since it is really is the best.

Point is, I dont think we should make a thread saying people who asks for a mediafire links are being ungrateful.

I regularly share and have heard the "mediafire link please" over a million times but It has never crossed my mind that these people are being ungrateful whatsoever. If you think they are, then thats your opinion and I respect that. I just dont think this kind of issue should be discussed. Its pretty elementary and only a simple understanding is needed.

    "mediafire link please"

Is there any benefit to the uploader of using Rapidshare vs Mediafire? If not, why not go with the free choice? Personally, I find it easier to upload & share with Mediafire. I also hate those stupid Rapidshare cats :cat3::rocketwho

RS used to be very easy to use, but now that they use those cats, it's become a real chore to get it correct. I dread seeing things uploaded there...

More people said that, so I checked it. Because of my premium account I never saw those cats, but this is extremely unuserfriendly indeed. I didn't know RS made this such a hassle.

The only benefit is that a premium account is free when you manage to get your uploaded files downloaded 10,000 times. So I've had a few free months last year. Plus that I've also tried a few sites that upload to multiple other sites (it's a good idea to have mirrors), which took ages. I haven't tried mediafire though -- I will.

    Everybody thanks for their opinion!

Hahaha...ya, it's hard to differential between dog and cat. :)
You take note that the animal, the cat is fatter. :)

In fact, the rapidshare is not expensive, buy the premium account, it's worth.
