I've dropped close to $1k trying to figure this sh*t out again and its still not working out for me period...

    My videos are high quality.

I create my own High quality phone verified yt/gmail/google+/adwords accounts (all kinds of stuff done to them).

Each video title + description + tags is unique. (similar layout but unique)

I managed to rank one YouTube video (page 1 - listing 3-4) and I did the following to it.

-2-3k backlinks (all with one anchor text, main keyword)
    -75k hr views
-(wide variety of social signals) 5WRo0.png
    -350 yt video likes
    -50 - 60 comments

I've used this video as the basis for all of my other videos I'm trying to rank and its been nothing but pain and agony.

The only success I've had recently to rank videos (past 2 days) is by using various social signals. (google +1's)

Any of your guy's input on this matter would be greatly appreciated and I would be more then happy to share with you guys on how to automate the creation of youtube/google accounts (this does work for some other websites but not all).

    thanks,

    YouTubez

Hey man - I feel your pain!

I've been doing the same kind of things. My results have been somewhat mixed and inconsistent but I have managed (as of yesterday, in fact) to get two videos onto the front page of YouTube for some quite competitive terms, so hopefully sharing my experience might help.

First, some questions: What kind of keywords are you going after? What's the competition like? Are you trying to rank your video on Google or just YouTube? Also, does your video fluctuate a lot or is it stuck in a certain position?

Looking at your link building scheme, you seem to be doing all of the right things. I mean, that's basically what I've been doing. One thing I noticed you don't have there are video embeds - these are huge (I've had some success with it) and are considered strong ranking factors, based on what I've read and seen.

Regarding your 2-3k backlinks: Are these all the same, i.e. blog comments? Are they High PR? One thing I've noticed is that web 2.0's (just a few) + video embed + related content seems to really help with ranking videos. A guy who outranks me on a certain keyword has just a few of these (and not much else, actually) and ranks really well. I'm just about to tryout a service on BHW that does something similar. Once I do, I'll be sure to let you know how it goes.

Yep, I agree with the Google +1's. They seem to be one of, if not THE, key social signal for videos. Just make sure you get genuine +1's with real, verified google accounts.

You say you've successfully ranked a video already using the things you mention, so you can obviously do it. I know it's probably the last thing you want to hear (trust me, I didn't want to hear it) is to just give it a bit of time. Be more consistent with your link building, diversify a bit (blog posts, web 2.0's) and things WILL happen.

Also, give yourself a little breathing space. I too was really focused on ranking YouTube videos and when things didn't go right and my video moved backwards or whatever, it just made me feel cr*p and frustrated. Don't put so much pressure on yourself, man. Have a few other things on the go as well. It will keep you motivated, focused and stop excessive rumination.

I am by no means an expert here and am very much in the same boat as you, but overall one thing that WILL determine whether you succeed or fail is perseverance. You'll get it man, just keep trying :)

    Jon.

My experience with Youtube is ranking seems to be hit and miss. I have had videos rank for no reason, and others I have spent time trying to rank, simply have not ranked.

if you need more exposure and a boost in your rankings especially get your self some do follow links, hit up this site filmyourlisting (dot) com and sometimes you need to give some time to rank a video and try to drip feed everything you do to it, so it looks natural :)

    goodluck :)

I dont know mate, you're doing something wrong.
It works perfectly for me :) 7 videos uploaded yesterday, all are on the #1 #2 #3 position, different niches, some of them are really hard niches. I overranked videos uploaded a few months ago with +500k views.

    1. These keywords I'm shooting for a very competitive. (they have the traffic)

    2. YouTube purely right now, one thing at a time.

    3. video embeds, I've tried them alone and they didn't really do anything for me period...

    4. My backlinks are purely spam blog comments.

Thanks for the advice, maybe I need to diversify things more.

I miss just needing the basics, mass amounts of yt likes + views (unique HQ views).

Not to mention I am doing same trying to rank my videos on YT as well as G. But it is too much fluctuated. I ranked videos on first page of Yt and having all the on page and backlinks as the OP mentioned.

I just want to know if this embed views really help to rank video in YT?
embed is for only views or it comes also for backlinks? (embed backlinks).

I hope you will shed some lights on it.

    No problem, man.

    1. OK, well that makes sense. More competitive terms are naturally going to be harder to rank for. Like I said, in this situation link quality/diversity, consistency and time are going to be the measure of your success.

    2. OK, if you're just focusing on ranking in YouTube then backlinks aren't AS important. The main factors are high retention views (drip fed/consistent!), social signals (embeds, likes, shares, comments). This doesn't mean that links won't help though.

    3. Hmm, that's interesting. Where did you buy them? What was the quality like? Have they been indexed?

    4. That's something you're going to have to address -- HOWEVER -- I have seen people literally spam their way to the top of youtube search, so I'm kind of in two minds about this...anyone else care to chime in here??

Yes, diversify more - you'll save yourself a lot of anguish. Sticking with youtube, perhaps go for some easier keywords, then you can can try and establish a system and get some satisfaction. Throwing yourself in the deep-end off the bat rarely works out.

Yeah me too! I miss the good ol' days :)

    Regards, Jon.

    Hey mate,

I can't say for sure whether embeds will help youtube ranking, there are too many other variables. However, in my experience and from what I've seen, they do help. My best advice is to simply try it. The embeds I used were from Fiverr. I don't know if anybody offers a service like this on BHW.

In my view, embeds can be thought of as both backlinks and a social ranking factor which is one of the best things you can get with a video. ESPECIALLY if the video is embedded on high quality sites with high PR and WITH related content.

    Hope that helps :)

Well I managed to hit a few videos on the first page and they are slowly going back down to the second page and If I can say so myself they will probably be down to nothing before long....
