    Hey guys,

Is ranking websites in the financial niche is the same as any other niche? I've done some keyword research and found a couple of valuable keywords in the finance niche. One keyword gets +10,000 US searches per month, CPC $3, High Adwords competition and the competition in the first page is low. I mean very low, 4 results with less than 50 BLs, 1 PR 1, 1 PR 2, 2 PR 3 and only 2 results out of ten are optimized for the keyword and no .edu, .gov or any well knowing site in the top ten.

I ranked websites before in other weaker niches with great success, but I'm not satisfied with the CPC and the money that I get from adsense and thought about expanding to other niches with higher CPC and better monetizing possibilities which led me to do kw research in the financial niche.

I found this particular keyword in the first hour of doing the kw research and I'm really worried about getting into this niche, I heard a lot of people say that it's hard to rank financial websites, and only Gurus can rank in this niche with advanced techniques such as private blog networks and bla bla bla.

Frankly, If I had found this keyword with the same competition in any other niche I wouldn't have hesitated to capture a related domain and climb the hell of Google to the first result. But what I've heard about that particular niche made me worried and though that there might be some kind of special algorithm by google for this particular niche, and another thing is there's no way this keyword was left there without any one trying to rank for it, mostly some tried to rank and got penalized by Google in the last two updates which worries me more.

I would really appreciate any information from experienced members about the ranking process of websites in the financial niche, Is it the same as any other niche?

Is there any different ranking factors for this niche?

Is there any kind of special penalization by Google for new domains which rank in this niche in a short time -even if it's a high quality website with high quality backlinks-?

What is the best special strategy or tactic to rank websites in the financial niche?

Sorry for making this long, but this keyword and/or niche may bring me or may cost me some serious money.

Thank you for reading, and Thanks in advance for all the answers.

You better be ready to have a HUGE budget to try to rank in the financial niche, You got billion dollar companies fighting for that space too.

    Hey kideze,

There's really no well know companies in the top ten, only google ads.

Is your reply based on experience or only general information?

Because there are many keywords after doing more research that contains many 1-5 pages only websites rank for better keywords than the one I found firstly, and there are only 1 or 2 big companies (Banks) who rank with them on top ten results.

It is the same, as ranking at any niche, though the only difference your competition has bigger budgets :)

You've either found a great keyword (unlikely) or other larger companies are not ranking for some reason (unprofitable, legal, regulations). Yes, I do speak from experience.
