Hi I have a website with only 1 page visible to the search engine. The rest of the website is huge, but requires login to view. As you may have guessed, the 1 page that is visible to Google contains the logo, some description and a registration form and a link to login.

I did consider having the first page link to a few more pages like About Us, Tips, for SEO purposes but I dont want the the visitors to stray away from registering and go on to read the other mini pages instead.

In such a case, I seek the advise of BHW... Thanks all!! :D

You can rank one page websites.
That being said I have some private forums, and though you can' taccess them, they are ranked in google, and have PR4s and PR3s.

Not sure if they are ranking, I'm sure if I built links to it, it would rank.

Thanks guys. Will it be awkward if a search for MyWebsiteName gives my website at #1, and articles at #2-#10? Will you be concerned if such a situation occurs?

How do you do on-page optimization if its just a logo and a login form?

Look at that Jullian Michaels thread. He ranked Jullian Michaels diet 6th with nothing more then a short article. So yes it can be done the problem is you gain more by using more keywords and build internal page rank by attaching pages together.

Put a small article on the front page describing your site and what it's about. Also, I see alot of forums have their content indexed, yet when you click their serp link it says "Sorry, you've used up all your time viewing our pages and must register", maybe this will help.
