Has anyone successfully ranked two unique posts from the same domain on the same keyword on first page?

    I see a lot of:

    Domain.com
    Domain.com/the-actualy-post/

ranking, but I haven't seen much of

    Domain.com/post-1-on-keyword/
    Domain.com/other-post-on-keyword/

ranking back to back on page one.

I ask because I currently rank in the top 3 for a major keyword and would love to get a 2nd article ranked below it. I would just go for my domain as a 2nd rank but its a generic name and I can't really have the keyword in the title or description of it.

You can do it. It is easier to rank the domain with internal page though.

Very possible, but like Scripteen said, it's easier to do domain and an article.

quote the article you're already ranking in another updated/rehashed version and add the link to "Awesome Article Part 2" in the first article :)

It's possible - but know that Google have parts of their algorithm which actively look to prevent "domain crowding" in SERPs
    You still see it sometimes

Better to look to rank other URL's for associated keywords or phrases with the option of building something similar to a silo structure for broad niche authority
