Ranking .to and other other special extension domains

Hi
Have you guys every tried to rank .to,.ag and other special extension domains?
Is it the same as ranking a regular .com domain?
There are many great EMD-s available,plus its more secure.
If you have any experience,please share.

It's exactly the same as ranking a .com

But what do you mean by "it's more secure" ?

Well it IS different trying to rank foreign extensions. A foreign extension will always rank easier in its native Google. So a .it will rank better Italy.

What ISN'T different is the new ones like .guru and such. Those are treated just like .com and .net domains. SO if you can grab EMDs there consider it.
