    Hi guys

Its been a while since i set a new sit up,so just looking to see what is a good strategy in the current seo climate.

Last time I set up a new site was around this time last year.

I created my site, unique content all manually written by myself.

For the off page stuff, i set up a range of web 2.0 platforms. I used manually spun content (written & spun by myself, and then put into The Best SPinner to generate articles). Id use this for my tier 1 links.

Id then use kontent machine to generate the content to be used for tiers 2 and 3. Id put this into GSA and let it run to create the tier 2 and 3 links. To get them indexed i used the SEO indexer addon for GSA, along with comment blasting on scrapebox.

Along with this i'd conduct outreach with other sites in my niche for guest posting. I'd also share links on forums, facebook, twitter, reddit and G+.

I also bought a separate domain, on separate hosting, and just directly blasted it with GSA links, then after a few weeks, 301 redirected it to my main site.

Is this still a sound strategy now?

I've never purchased links for any of my projects, and the only software i've used is

    GSA
    Scrapebox
    TBS
    Kontent Machine

Im looking to start a new site, so any additional info, tips, and any up to date lists of working/valid/worthwhile web 2.0's would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

I'm still learning SEO myself but as far as I'm concerned you should really avoid spun content on your web 2.0s. From what I've read they are some of the best sources of backlinks that you get get for your money site and you should really not cheap out on articles in any circumstance. Or at least on articles that will hold the link for the money site.

I've read this guide about web 2.0s and I can only recommend it.

I also recommend doing some social signals, I think they are very important as well.

There are good reviews about this BST (haven't tried myself)

    Good luck!

Agree with above, but it's our own opinion. It may slide through now, but one day you might wake up wondering why your rankings dropped significantly.
It's a lot of work but it's a good investment for the long run. I've probably paid my writer about $500 over the last couple months on articles.

Your strategy still works today. The only thing I would change is the "spun content" you used. Use unique articles in your first tier. You can use spun content in your second tier but make sure it's well spun.

What's your goal? Long term or churn and burn?

Long term won't happen with that strategy, between penguin and manual penalties Google will smack you down in less than a year.

Nothing works better than a few well placed paid links. That's all you need.
