I want to share with the forum a case-study that I have recently done. First I should say I´m not a SEO man as my traffic comes from other sources, but starting with organic traffic to diversify my income, is something I always had in mind. So this is what I did:

    - 8 months ago I did a keyword research.
    - Found an available domain related to a keyword with 30.000 monthly searches.
    - Built a 2 pages wordpress site with a couple of unique articles.
    - Forget about the site for 6 months. Never added content nor did any SEO.

Since 2 months ago, I have been purchasing fiverr SEO gigs for that site, one per week. Know what? Site is ranking on #8 for the main keyword, #14- 20 for other keyword and also bringing traffic from long tail ones.

I do understand SEO is over saturated and takes long time to see results (as I read from other members here) and can be frustrating when you put much effort on it and money and you don´t get what you initially expect.
So here are my questions :
Have I been very lucky with this site? Does this normally happen?
Why spending long hours on the computer when you can get "lucky" by paying a few bucks?

I would like to get your opinion about this.

Thanks (sorry for my bad english)

Depends on your niche, and quality of the gigs youre purchasing, I suppose.

Sometime it happens for exact match keyword. Another reason may be your keyword gets low competitor.

Do you mean the edu links for blog comments? If so, I don't use that one. I do not do blog comments or forum profiles. It looks too unprofessional for a store. It may work, but I'm not comfortable doing that. From these gigs he has http://fiverr.com/crorkservice I use: "75 PR3 to PR8 seo linkwheel and 2000 social bookmarking backlinks" and "spin and submit your article to 7450 directories, get 500 google + backlinks and pings" That's it. I also did the directories one for each of my sites but that was done just once, as the site doesn't need to be resubmitted to the same directories over and over. Either his article gig is a miracle worker or I write some darn good articles, because that article gig works.

I don't know if you're asking me or the OP, but mine aren't seasonal.
