If the expired domain generates clicks and gets attention, then yes. Otherwise if it's just a bunch of stale links, then no.

For Google Banned Check, Follow the given tip:

'Let’s first look at Google. Go to www.google.com and type in the domain name, with and without the “www.” For example, search for “www.domain.com” and then search for “domain.com” (without using quotes around the domain name). If the domain shows up in the search results then it is not banned in Google. '

An aged expired domain makes it easy to get ranked based on its existing SEO values. You can redirect the old domain to your main website through 301 redirects which improve ranks.
Domain age is not directly considered as a ranking factor.
A contented site with inbound links will get better ranks in long run.

Yes it will rank fast but check your domain if they have any spammed keywords. Check their backlink profile, if all good you will rank faster.

For expired domains, will get the rank improvement when those site have good metrics with high quality. and also using low competition and high volume search keyword.
But for aged domains, we will get instant ranking but little expensive.

In SEO, aged domain is also a determining factor for ranking.
