Ranking onto google (how do you push past page 2)?

It would be interesting to see the methods people use to push past page two. I tend to try and rank 2-4 keywords with each video, but a lot of the times my keywords only make it to page 2 or 3. I think my on page SEO is pretty good, but I would love to hear what people are doing for offpage seo?

For example, I will try and rank a keyword in a location with phrases like: houston roofer, houston roofing, roofing houston, roofer houston

While I may be able to get 1 phrase to rank page 1, the rest tend to be page 2 or 3. Can anyone help?
