Ok I'm on page 2 for a keyword which has

    (1) 8088 daily searches
    (2) Seo Comp of 1,300,000 according to Market Samurai.
    (3) title comp of 496,000
    (4) Adwords comp of 72%

Now I've been hitting this with everything I've got. A massive link wheel, Sboxing, Xrumer, pinging links, god knows what else. And very little seems to be happening. What kind of nuclear reaction is it going to take for me to storm this bad boy, right up to no 1.

    Answers I'm suspecting are:
    (1) Give it some Time
    (2) Don't waste your time
    (3) Don't give up the day job

However, I am determined and I WILL succeed. Especially with a few tips from my fellow ingenious blackhatters....

    Give it some time...

The SERPS have been acting up, most likely due to PR updates

Are your main competitors authority sites?

Metaldragon, the top spots are covered by PR5's, 6's and one 7! But no.10 is taken by someone with PR 0 so I assume I can get close without having high Pr myself...

Yes you can rank with PR0, forget about PR and focus on authority & quality backlinks.
In one of my websites, I rank #4 with PR0 and a competitor ranks #7 with PR6 !
You also have to wait a little.

gonna be tough work the pr 0 could be a 301 or have links from from huge sites in the niche.

its page 2 you need to really look at to see how much real comp your dealing with.

if page 2 is full of pr 3-4 as well its not going to be a easy ride and your gonna need to prepare for a tough campaign.

If you have used the automation tools and still struggling. Why not try some manual stuff.

What ever anyone says, Manual submissions and comments / posts work a shed load better than auto generated

Have you tried high PR bookmarking sites ? If not, maybe that's the point. I've been struggling with my site on 10th spot, I outsourced bookmarking and within 48 hours site went from #10 to #5.

If the competition is from high authority pages like wikipedia, major news sites, gov sites etc, it might take a lot of time to gain enough trust to outrank them. I think blog commenting, xrumer and others are not good enough to outrank such competition mostly. They can only carry you up to a certain point where you are now. You should try to acquire in-content links from relevant web sites from now on.
