I own a business that if ranked would bring in a substantial amount of money. The contracts average around 10k each and about 3-4k of that is profit. For the main Keyword there is 880 searches a month and If we could get to the top there would be some serious cheddar. With a previous business we had a guy who developed a website for us and got it ranked for a percent profit share until he made 10,000. I am looking for something similar to this but we would both have to feel very comfortable with each other as there is obviously a lot of trust involved.

Another issue is country. If you live in the US I know I could just cut checks and mail them as we start making sales but I am not sure how I would pay out if you live across the pond. Excuse my ignorance in this but if you can actually rank my site in top 3 there could be some 5 figure commission checks and I am pretty sure most online sites would have huge red flags raised by that so keep that in mind.

If this sounds like something you are interested in please post here or pm me with your experience and what methods you will be using if you we decide were a good fit. I am open to what type of profit share you would want as well. I do not want to agree to a profit split that goes into perpetuity so let me know if you would prefer a set dollar amount earned or a specific time frame. ie, 10 percent of profits until you make 10,000 dollars or 10 percent of profit for a year after ranking starts or whatever you think would be fair.

    Hey OP,

FWIW, just keep in mind that while White Hat is definitely the way to go for a long-term money site, it will take longer to rank. Is this a brand new website for this business? Does it have a clean link profile? Did you do all on-page SEO already? You said you would want "something similar" to your previous person so that sounds like you need development as well?

There are only 880 searches a month but not sure what the competition is. The issue you may run into is someone doing all the work and you benefiting from it even after you part ways. You mentioned $10k a couple of times - including saying that someone else made that in the past. Is that your "cap" for as much money you'll give them before moving on to someone else? Granted, $10k is great and that would definitely get the attention of a lot of people but you may be turning off the really good SEO people who look for long term partnerships so they can continually see the rewards over the long term.

Just a hurdle you may need to overcome in your search for a good SEO person.

    Good luck

White Hat (& blackhat of course;-) /Local Seo/Social Media/PPC Expert
Ran several of my own companies for 15 years in UK , now freelance business dev consultant using skills gained over the years as I find it much more job satisfaction than being the bad guy all the time (i.e. the BOSS!)

Over the years promoted businesses within:

    Construction
    Property
    Interior design
    Equestrian
    Toners & printer cartridge suppliers
    CAT 5 & data cabling
    Painting contractors
    Asbestos & Hazardous waste removal
Surveying for many different commercial sectors
.....among some others that ive probably forgotten about!!

PM what you intend to achieve and Ill tell you:

1 how much you will need to pay me if serious
2 What I will do to help you achieve your goals
3 how long it will take i.e. milestones.

Closing this Thread, Have decided to have a go at outsourcing the SEO myself and possibly setting up a PBN to help. Thanks for the replies. If I dont get the results I want I will reach out to those who have responded here to see if we are a good fit before looking elsewhere.

After doing a little SEO and seeing some pretty decent gains and realizing the competition is not that stiff I think a profit share may have been more generous than what was required.

Thanks for your interest and responses
