Ranking keyword vs keywords

    I'm trying to figure out why many of my websites are ranking like this lately.

    I rank #1 for 'keyword', but #200+ for 'keywords'/'keywording'. I'm seeing this quite a lot lately. Anyone see any specific reason for this?

    "Search results appear based on the similarity of your keywords to the search terms a person enters when they're searching on Google" from Google support.
    It seems that your "keyword" and "keywords" are considered different or not so similar by Google.

    I'm not sure if you are being serious or not, but one would assume Google sees keyword 'Dog' and 'Dogs' somewhat similar.
