Hello, I have a blog that's focused on anything tech or game-wise.

The homepage is a stream of recent posts that I've done (ie. it's dynamic) related to the tech niche. What I want to begin doing is researching keywords to write articles about and try to build links on those using GSA. I want to be able to rank the inner posts (by inner post, I mean example.com/KEYWORD) to top positions.

Is it easy to do this and what requirements (in terms of monthly searches) do you look for?

    Thanks again :)

That's the basics of ranking your site for multiple keywords. You only get to rank your homepage for a few select terms as determined by your onpage optimization, and that's it. You can't just continuously rank for terms just because you build links anchored with them (as unfortunately so many people seem to presume) to expand your ranking keywords and there by get traffic for them yes, you set up and optimize inner pages.

Search count is useless, yes you want a term that people are searching for, but what matters more is if you can rank your page. That's determined by analyzing the competition for that keyword based on the quality of sites their optimization for that keyword, and their links. Generally its much easier to rank inner pages because you're going to be going after longer tail keywords, and your site will already have some authority on the general subject, and all the link juice will be flowing to your new page.

Make sure you have god site navigation structure, your site maps are in order, and link between other content of your site, and possible out to related posts on authority sites in your niche. Then you can target 5, 10, 15, 20 however many keywords with a page dedicated to each... and guess what, this is how you build an authority site. Ranking related terms on the inner urls will do wanders for your entire Site SEO.

    Cheers.

I always do this. Its a key component in building authority sites. I create articles with different targetted keywords and try to rank them.
Once your site has a good amount of links. It will be easy to rank for the inner pages.

make sure you interlink all of your pages...look at wikipedia as they are the model for doing this...

i have an authority site with over 30,000+ pages and the secrete to an authority site is interlinking the pages...you mentioned you are in the tech news sector...look at techcrunch.com and see what type of interlinking they do...interlinking is super important...don't over look this as this is super important...

Ok, how do you build links to the inner pages? I'm currently trying to do GSA Search Engine RAnker + WAC, which I just bought today. Any help on the link building part?
+ how do I find which keywords to target for my main page?

Thanks for the tip, I will start implementing interlinking within posts from now on :)
