You should try and get the .co.uk version of the domain, or something similiar.

Grab G00gle M4ps Ca$h (leetspeak to avoid SERPS) from the downloads section of the forum. It contains some good information about ranking in maps results.

EDIT: This will only help if you meant locally in the UK. (EG London)

    Hi,

Are you trying to rank in a region in the uk or the uk nationaly?

I had a similar problem: i ranked postition 1 globally ( googledotcom ), yet I was position 120th on the uk, and yes I had a .org.

I just submitted to a few .co.uk uk directories and a couple of days later i ranked on the first page ( local search ).

I think just tell google by adding the site to thompson local etc etc. I also changed my targeted audience to uk in webmaster tools

Hi guys, i changed the location in webmaster and will start to submit to uk directories. I'll see if this has an effect. Fingers crossed.

You can use geo tags on your images and videos, too. It couldn't hurt.
