I am doing a lot of business in a number of overseas countries

My site ranks pretty good for a tonne of keywords on .com and .co.uk

However I have noticed that the country specific domains are available to register in a lot of these countries.

So would you recommend I register the Country specific domains and build new sites that funnel people towards my main site or just do a straight redirect to my .co.uk site ?

Building new sites would'nt be a big project, 6-8 pages is all I need. I would consider this option if I thought it would get more serp traction in those countries.

    Looking for your valued opinion.

    Thanks.

    I'd build the sites.

Firstly, country specific domains should be easier to rank for those countries (although they won't rank as well outside of the countries).

Secondly, they will pass juice on to your .co.uk site

Best thing to do would be getting a foreign domain and use the language of the target country on your pages. I live in Northern Europe and I've found out my ccTLD's rank naturally really well compared to some generic TLD's (even though I'v tried to geotarget those domains using webmaster tools).

Also specify your language in html open tag, just in case google can't recognize the language your page is using.

Sounds pretty much as I expected "Build the sites and they will come !"

Thanks all for your input .
