Blackhatworld is full of bright minds who surely has figured this out already since updates last summer. I have to admit that I haven't, and I'm in urgent need of help from this community to keep me away from bankruptcy.

I haven't figured out how to rank new sites after updates last april/may/june (Payday loan 2.0/3.0 and Panda 4.0). I've kept the business up with old sites still ranking, which are being penalized one after another. Some sites I'm able to recover for short time using different 301 methods and some sites have been penalized for good and don't bring any income. Now I'm coming to that point that if I don't figure out what's going on I'm totally bust.

I know that nobody's going to give me detailed ranking blueprint, and I don't expect that. But I would appreciate if those who have figured out how to rank sites lately could give me some pointers and advice what to think and where to look - how to adjust since those last year updates?

One specific question (which might or might not be that meaningful): Have you figured out the reason why newer websites inner pages are ranking at least somewhere, but the homepage is nowhere to be found for it's keywords? This have happened to me with multiple test sites and I just can't understand what's going on. Some sites have been quite high in quality, some not.

Anyway, all the tips, help, advice, sympathy, support you can spare here or via PM will greatly help me with my struggles.

Authority + onpage seems to be the winning formula in 2015. Filters on anchor texts and quality/quantity seem to be tighter than they'd ever been at this point.

Instead of the Tier 1 Excellent quality <- Tier 2 Okay quality <- Kitchen sink strcuture we'd been using through 2011 to early 2014, you kind of need a thicker tier structure to funnel linkjuice now.

Tier 1 Excellent quality <- Tier 2 Good quality <- Tier 3 Okay quality <- Tier 4 Kitchen Sink has been working well for me. The only anchors I use on tier 1 are SAPE and from my own PBN, rest is all branded and raw URL

Also, there ARE little spoken of link sources that still rank you really hard that most of the SEO community hasn't caught on to. They're used by the big boys, but noone sane's gonna spoonfeed that to you :p

    Big thanks for detailed reply.

Authority and onpage have been kind of important even before those updates I mentioned. I just haven't figured out what have changed regarding onpage or authority after last summer even I've done a lot of analysis and testing.

Your advice on tiers is something I can actually change, since I haven't been as careful as you with the quality of lower tiers.

And no worries, I understand it's not beneficial to share every trick you have in the bag. :)

Less aggressive SEO with attention towards quality content that gives your visitors a REAL reason to link to you and come back. Ranking and banking works sometimes, but for adults that need a steady income, it just doesn't seem like the way to go.

Yes, I've seen homepages drop, and the inner pages still ranking. In my experience... those inner-pages will drop off, too (in time).

All I use are PBNs to rank my money sites. I suggest building your own, or hiring a reputable company to do so.

Keyword diversification is very important. Using branded/URL anchors around 50%, with under 5% main keyword and the rest should be LSI keywords.

There's a lot that goes into researching a site (all of which can be found on this forum), but the first metrics I suggest you look at is the domain authority, trust flow and citation flow. If they are all 20 and above, then you need to move forward with examining the backlinking structure.

    Hope this helps...

I've seen the same results as you.
I created an inner page on strong authority domain and kws were automatically in #70-80 place.
I sent some shitty GSA SER links and not so good SAPE links.
Surprisingly the site went into top 15 for all kws even though links weren't close to good.
I'm trying now with another authority domain which I found and I'm going to try and rank homepage of it for the same keywords but with better links.
I don't know what to expect, we will see. :p

Thanks for the reply and information.

I have my own niche PBNs which have only given moderate results lately. All domains have high (20-40) TF metrics. Keyword diversification is a must and have been doing this for a long time.

The thing is, I was able to rank new sites very well before the Panda 4.0 and Payday 2.0/3.0 updates (I'm not 100% which update, or all, I've been mostly affected), but after I can't seem to be able to rank anything.

What i am seeing from last one year is less bounce rate provides better results, if your site on page is good and have less bounce rate then it will get better ranking.
