So i have a french website, it's a .com domain, the content was in english ( how stupid of me ) and it wasn't ranking on google.fr. It was position 13 on google.com, but no where in google.fr . I changed the content of it yesterday to all french. I was wondering if that'll be enough to start seeing results in google.fr or should i get french hosting too.

why would you use English content if you are targeting french visitors ??? and i'm actually working on a new french website too , so i made a small research and it seems that all "almost" the websites ranking in my niche are hosted in France , so i think it might help and i did that too i just bought hosting in servers based in France (2 days ago)

Having it on a FR server would only help, but I don't think its a must.

But the content must be a french. You should also build links from french website (both with french content (but not .fr domains) and fr. domains)

To rank a site for google.fr you may buy a french host, a good .fr domain, about 100 good french backlinks indexed, french content, and then you can watch money rolling in.

    Hey OP!

I suggest implementing 1 of the following, or all of them if you can :)

    1. Switch over to a french hosting server

    2. Make sure your website has french content on it

    3. When building backlinks, use french content to create contextual backlinks on high pr Web 2.0's.

    4. (Optional) For those of you who use WMT, login and navigate via the left sidebar to where it allows you to set your targeted Geo-location, and once your there select France.

    Goodluck!
