Ranking for keyword not in site?

    If I comment on blogs using anchor text to a page url that does not include the anchor keyword, will the url still get backlinks and increase PR for that keyword?

    I assume it will as the keyword would have many links to the url, even if the keyword is not on the page of the url. Apparantly a google search for "click here" brings Adobe as the top result because so many people link to them using "click here" as the anchor text.

    Yes i already tested this with a low competition keyword it works,but dont forget that on page factors is essential.

    Yes I agree anchors are very important and will rank you even if they do not appear on page.

    Yes it'll work.

    I've backlinks from link wheel and social bookmarking with anchor text to page without keyword on it. Got Top 10 rank for low-medium competition keyword.

    Yes it works... You will get link juice... But for competitive keywords I will suggest you to keep keyword on page also... There are lots of factors for ranking and you don't have authority domain like adobe.com
