A client wants me to do Rep management, and the business name has only 4k exact matches-- good. What im wondering is if web 2.0s like squidoo lenses, hub pages, articles on about.com, a LinkedIn profile, etc. with some good link juice will be enough to cover the entire page 1. I'm wondering if there are any roadblocks that dont exist when ranking single websites, versus ranking 10-15 web 2.0/social network pages.

Oh one more thing: Say I bought a few articles on a private high PR blog network for this 4k keyword. Do you guys think that article would show up on the top of the searches without any help from me, seeing as its on a high PR private network?

This is all depend if the article is keyword optimize

Uh, obviously? I really don't know what to say to that. I think its common sense that the articles are keyword optimized. How on earth would irrelevant articles help...

Edit: I just noticed your post count keeps hoping up. I think your just spamming to get to 15 posts so you can PM or something.

4k results doesn't mean anything. Its all about how strong the front page listings are.

:( I can't believe I didn't think about that.. your totally right. Well luckily in this case, most of the sites are blog pages but the particular pages ranking for my term do not have many backlinks, nor are they high PR.

Usually brand name is not a very competitive term, so you should be fine with high PR blogs.

I did the same thing, I only had to rank 20 spots.

You can create 4 profiles: fb, twitter, linkedin and google (there are many more)

And get some blog posts to high q blogs. Should be all.

Great advice.. If comp is weak, you should have no problem filling up the entire first page of serps. I've done it many times with clients. I usually order a ton of quality articles optimized for the kw, then plaster them on as many places as possible. This is pretty much the shotgun phase.. After that, continue checking serps and see what is ranking easily with no off page SEO. Then, once the serps have settled a bit, start back linking to the pages that need the least help. Then from there, rinse and repeat til first page of serps is full of just your stuff.

Awesome man thanks. Perfect for what I need. I plan to build some social network pages as the previous posted mentioned, because it will benefit this business. Then I will mix in some "shotgunned" articles (i will start using that term now haha) and i've always wanted to play with high PR private blogs.

That should about do it!

If anyone has anything else, please let me know! the more knowledge the better

Surely Google wouldn't list your site for all ten spots on the first page.

It would have the small 'plus' that would hide more results from your site.

Its rep management, I would rank 10 different sites and profiles for the top 10.. not one site

thanks a lot to everyone else. Im getting started shortly. Keep posting if you think its useful ;)

Personally, I prefer to use domains with the client's brand name in them. Reason being - I know they will last. Articles, social sites etc can float and drop a lot more and complaint sites can be pretty hard to beat - they are popular.

"Ranking for all 10 results on page 1"

Your post stated you were ranking for all 10 results on page 1..
Implying you were going to offer some sage like advice..instead..you were looking to be spoon fed.
Was the title misleading on purpose?
Anyway..If I was your "client" and i found you posting that sort of asinine question here I would have sacked you in seconds.
Well done for selling yourself so well to some clueless client....!
The scary bit is..someone is paying you for your advice...
jeez:D

Article directory submission of unique contents , surely bring your website to top position.

It also makes a big difference if you're trying to overtake a negative listing on a popular forum. If so, it may be harder to leapfrog. If not, yes, dominating the first page is much easier.

Also try Pinterest, Slideshare presentation, Youtube channel and videos (some show up in SERPs), a local listing if applicable, an infographic.

Even more advanced: a short ebook with the company name in it, then list it on Amazon Kindle.
