If I have an EMD ranking number 1 for a term, what happens when I 301 redirect it to an inner page of a site? Will it rank my inner page in the same position?

301 is redirect authority and the link juice according to that you should get the same rank. But home pages have more value than the inner pages.

Yes, if you redirect it to an inner page within 24-36 hours normally you will see the inner page moving up in ranking and the emd drop.
