Hello I have recently purchased a .net domain name.

After a while doing SEO work for the keyword with these amounts of global searches:

    Broad monthly searches: 673,000
    Phrase monthly searches: 135,000
    Exact monthly searches: 49,500

the domain is ranking 13th in google.com but 48th in google.ca.
I want to target google.ca since what I am providing is locally from canada.

    Is this normal?
    Any suggestions?

    thank you all

How long has the site been up? This could just be a google dance, which is normal.

Also, does your site's content clearly portray that what you're providing to the users is from Canada?
If Canadian traffic is what you're after, you couldve just got a .ca domain

or maybe you're just in a weird niche..

The site has been up for maybe one month and a half..
The site is a .net site. It has only one page that portrays selling stuff to canadians but all the other pages have general content.

I couldn't buy the .ca domain because it was taken for that exact match keyword so I went with the .net

I would just give it time. The site is still pretty new.

Also, check your competition for the US and CA results. Are there more Canadian sites showing up on the .ca results? Your keyword might just have naturally more competition locally in Canada than in the States. Just continue linkbuilding like you do. I'm sure your rankings will eventually level out :)

    1. Get a hosting from canada
    2. include en-ca to your codes
    3. Set country as ca in webmaster tools
    4. get backlinks from ca sites
