    Hi,

I finally got my website ranked on the first page and even a couple of spots higher. Painfully I still don't receive much traffic from my main keyword.
    First page ranking is this:

    1. domainname without the keywords - website
    2. non EMD but with one of the keywords - website
    3-8 google places websites
    9. my website, fully seo optimized and almost EMD.

So my question is, when I climb one spot up, will I be Nr2? So I basically
outrank the google places, because they look like that they're apart from the rest..?

I only can rent the site/adspace if I'm one spot 1 or 2.

Yes, I believe if you are able to pass Google Places, you would pass all of the listings at one time (if I understand what you mean). Google Places is tough though. I typically see that and stray away from these keywords.

Yes that was what I meant.
However, the 2 sites above google places are not really strong, so I believe/hope it's possible to outrank them.

    Thanks for the reply!

Yes, absolutely you can outrank GP... its not always easy... but not that difficult either... I have a good number of geo-targeted sites that show higher than Places... you're probably just a few high PR links away!!!

It seems that top two websites are sponsored listings, followed by local listings and then your website. I guess, I am right...

In that case you have to work a lot... Its not easy to out rank local listings (there are many other local factors which affects local rankings)

Get yourself listed on Google local and other local website, you may jump a few listings up.

Also, focus on other channels to get traffic like local classified websites and directories.

No you're not right. The highest ranking websites are not sponsored/adwords.
