So, you know that feeling you get when you think you just stumbled across gold by chance - that giddy excited feeling? well, I have it, but I do have some bumps I need to figure out... maybe someone here knows the answer before I work my ass off on this campaign...

I am going to do some basic product review type of sites on products that have a ton of searches/month but minuscule competition (the moment I found this is when I got that giddy feeling haha) HOWEVER... the only main bump or competition I do have is the products website itself... is it possible to outrank the products site even if the products name is their full domain name?

i.e. if Craftsman ONLY made 1 screwdriver, and their website was craftsmanscrewdriver.com and they were in pos 1 in the big G, with little to no competition, could I outrank them?

I know people say don't waste your time on competing with "authority sites" but, the products I am promoting are not really "mainstream" it isn't like gigantic electronic companies or anything... so I don't know if I should consider the products own site to be an "authority site"...

pass me some BHW wisdom, and thanks will be given to worthy responses!

It is highly possible if you know what you are doing. Since its the main product site don't mean a thing. You can outrank them just as you can any other site.

Hit me up if you have any questions or anything

It depends on the product website if they have little or no competition and are already No 1 in Google that may be to your advantage, They may not have optimised the site well or have a lot of backlinks. You need to run your keywords through Market Samuri or somthing like it to see how difficult it will be. If it is as you describe I have a feeling it should be doable.

it depends on how much seo they're doing. yes, having the domain name of the keyword, and being the actual authority site is a huge advantage. if they're properly taking care of their SEO, it's going to be extremely difficult. if they're not, then you got a shot.

Some of those business websites say you can't outrank them or you'll get ban. They purposely tell you not to compete like that.
