My head is spinning, Panda 3.9.2, Panda# 20, EMD Update, Pengiun #3.

Did I just waste the past 10 Months ? LOL

My Affiliate site was not very successful but I was on the right track, after 10 months, over 1,000 Pages and over $1,000 of Content, Tools, Link Building, hours and hours of reviewing SEO... I managed to get on to Page 1 of Google for my main long tale keyword, the same keyword as my EMD.

Over the coming months I slowly moved up until I hit #1 Spot, I was still and still am in the minus $ wise, and my keyword was not very profitable, making around $70 per month, but my confidence was good and I started working on a harder set of keywords moving up slowly page 3, page 2, bottom of page 1.

On October 6th, my #1 Spot Keyword was moved to #16 which may as well be #1600, I get 0 Visits for that keyword now.

My other 100 is keywords that I'm tracking pretty much dropped off the map losing about 80% of my traffic per day.

My site is a pure affiliate site and has affiliate links on about 90% of the pages, do you think if I removed most of the affiliate links it would have any positive effect, I was thinking of having just 1 well optimised affiliate page and linking all my old direct affiliate links to that page. Do you think that would have any benefit or would I have more success pissing into the wind?

    Notes:
Backlinks were diverse, 100's of different anchor tags and click here, website etc.

Removing your affiliate links won't really make a difference as long as your affiliate pages have good content to go along with that link. Did you check to make sure your site wasn't hit by negative SEO? It could just be a dance as well, so give it a little more time to stabilize first.

Maybe it was a manual review that got you down?

You can try and cloak it see if that works but you have to wait for the next panda. G is a bastard towards affiliates trying to make money eventhough that's obviously there number 1 goal. Try the cloaking first I would say then try removing them.

This site earns very low, considering it has 1000 pages. I mean, 1000 articles cost around $5000, so you should be earning at least $400 per moth to justify the investment.

I speak for alot of Blackhatters when i say i feel your pain. All i learned regarding SEO has gone down the drain if matt cutts keeps up with this. Keep your head up, IM isnt dead. google is prolly not the best bet on earning income anymore.
