What are you thoughts about ranking a sales page?

My feeling is that, they don't rank well and would rather setup a wordpress site and capture leads that way?

Anyone have any experience in ranking a one page sales page (has more than 50% text/html ratio)

    Thanks

It's all going to come down to the links.

Is there any reason why you don't want to build it out further? You can buy articles for pretty cheap to fatten it up that will probably help your rankings a bit.

Ranking a sales page is like rankings a 1 page website. As Gyuman points out, its all about the backlinks.

Somestimes I like to add some articles about related stuff on the site, so Google don't see the site as too thin... So I usually "hide" some links to articles in the bottom of the page.

Basically it's just about your on and off site SEO. If you do them well there is no reason why it shouldn't rank.

Put the minuscule amount of effort and make it a bigger website. You'll have more success ranking it, Google won't give you a hard time for the site being to small.

You shouldn't have a problem ranking a sales page. The MMO niche had a sales page ranking for a while.
